Reconciliation Action Plan

As we gather on this land, united in the spirit of Cor Unum, One Heart, we acknowledge the traditional owners of the land, the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin nation. We pay our respects to the Elders, past, present, and emerging, and recognise their continuing connection and contribution to this land.

United together with our Indigenous Peoples and Cultures, we are reminded that we are called to be people of justice, mirroring the attitudes of Christ’s heart of compassion, hope and respect. We respect the inherent dignity of each person and the integrity of all creation.

Sacré Cœur has developed a Reconciliation Action Plan as the School aims to seek, enable and empower reconciliation; to ensure our community values, respects and celebrates the richness and diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, their cultures, perspectives, histories and futures.

As a Sacred Heart community, we are called to be people of justice, grounded in love, mirroring Christ’s heart of compassion, hope and respect. Sacré Coeur is committed to walking a journey of reconciliation through relationships, respect and opportunities.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan encompasses opportunities in the classroom, for staff, at events and for our community.  We are committed to raising awareness and teaching about reconciliation and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ traditions, culture, contributions, history and traditions and act on racism. We will create opportunities in the delivery of curriculum, policies, engagement with our community; and appropriately resource and celebrate our progress within our community.
