John is an experienced educational leader who has a passion for working with people who wish to have a close alignment between the mission of their school or organisation and matching that mission to the lived culture.
He has taught across Prep to Year 12, lectured at University level and has led the establishment of an Early Years Program.
John was the first lay Principal of both Whitefriars College and St Bede’s College, Acting Principal at St James College and Deputy Principal at three other schools. John also worked at Catholic Education Melbourne (now Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools) as the inaugural appointment into the secondary Principal consultant role before it was eventually regionalised. This enabled him to consult to more than 50 secondary schools over that time.
John is an evaluator for the Council of International Schools, a role that has taken him to numerous schools, both not for profit and private, locally, interstate and overseas. His speciality in that evaluation process is in Governance and Mission. He has completed the Director’s course from the Australian Institute of Company Director’s (AICD) and acts as an advisor to various Charisms and Boards.
John has recently worked with the Society of Jesus Australia as the Executive Officer for Social Ministries and is currently the Leadership Ambassador for Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS).
